Secluded Urban Garden
GREENWICH | LONDON
Contemporary, non-conformist, unique. A small, stylish modern garden for entertaining, privacy and escapism. The conceptual design reflects the modern eco-credentials of the building without being overly minimalist. The layout provides a journey and destination, atmosphere and interest, resulting in an intimate experience.
Minimalist Urban Garden
HONOR OAK | LONDON
A simplistic, contemporary, low-maintenance outdoor room for socialising and retreating from busy urban living. This design concept is inspired by the clients’ interest in modernism, including the Bauhaus movement and the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Designed to be a continuation of the highly-specified interior of their home – a sensitively renovated yellow-brick semi-detached Victorian house in South London – focusing on finish, attention-to-detail and equally highly-specified materials.
Urban Green Room
ST JOHN’S | LONDON
A calming green-themed contemporary low-maintenance garden concept for a busy professional couple in a conservation enclave in South London. Offering a space to entertain and also unwind in privacy, to complement their stylish modern interior whilst paying homage to the original Victorian architecture of this terraced house and its historic local vernacular.
Contemporary Suburban Garden
BECKENHAM | KENT
A sleek, minimalist, low-maintenance garden to complement a period property with refurbished contemporary interior, transforming a dark neglected area into a light and airy grown-up space for relaxing and entertaining. The design is heavily influenced by the architecture of this notably-angular detached Victorian cottage with open-plan living and contemporary decor, fusing old with new and echoing the monotone colour palette of the house.
Contemporary Cottage Garden
BECKENHAM | KENT
A traditionally-inspired layout to bring structure, formality and cohesion to an expansive hedge-lined mature family garden. Designed to complement a substantial contemporary extension to this period property in a conservation area, symmetry is a key factor which is planned around a visual axis from the front door entrance, leading the eye through the hallway and living space, into the garden, and eventually resting on the water feature focal point.
Suburban Front Garden
BECKENHAM | KENT
A complete re-design of this extremely small space following major service infrastructure works and improvements to the façade. The project included designing bespoke items including; an oak porch canopy; sandstone steps and sandstone setts for edging – configured to alleviate the impact of the diagonally gradated plot and provide consistent levels. Attention-to-detail and quality of finish is the crucial focus for this modest 7m² area, with seasonal colour provided by herbaceous plants and bulbs interspersed between the structural planting in the remaining limited space.
Permaculture Garden
CAPEL MANOR GARDENS | ENFIELD
A modern, stylised interpretation of an ecological garden, promoting environmental awareness and the importance of sustainability in gardens, focused on a style and planting re-design. A concept for one of several permanent show garden installations set within 30-acre landscaped public gardens, sponsored by Provender Nurseries.
